Arbitrary Claims
The residents of Flint Michigan were subjected to high levels of lead in their water caused by bureaucratic ineptitude. It is ironic that the very people that were supposed to be regulating the water quality poisoned the people they were supposed to protect. Someone on Facebook posted the message that "it is interesting that only black cities (New Orleans and now Flint) have been wiped out. Other socialist activists have made similar claims that the poisoning of the residents of Flint was racially motivated. No one has produced a shred of evidence that this is so. These claims are therefore arbitrary and as Ayn Rand has said, they must be ignored. The Governor of Michigan however has taken to attempting to refute the arbitrary and in so doing gives these claims intellectual credibility and psychological potency. Further, the governor as an authority figure influences American culture and encourages others to make the same psycho/epistemological mistake that he makes and helps to spread the erroneous socialist counter-culture message that reality is what the majority says it is. The governor is wrong metaphysically (existence is primary), epistemologically (we don't yet know what caused the poisoning of the people of Flint) and ethically (If you don't know what you're talking about keep your mouth shut). You're welcome.
