Radio Show #2

"Radio Show Host:  "Ladies and gentlemen the battle in this country is not so much between Democrats and Republicans or liberals vs. conservatives as it is a daily battle between realism and idealism between American culture and American counter-culture.  The battle continues on a daily basis not just every two years during election time. Let's go to the phones.  Bob in Costa Mesa you're on with Ron." Caller:  "I was listening to Rush and he said that our politics is what shapes our country." Radio Show Host:  "Thanks for calling.  Rush is wrong.  If you listen to talk-radio you'll be led to believe that politics shapes our culture when in reality the exact opposite is true.  Ayn Rand was right when she recognized that philosophy is the foundation for all other forms of thought.  Philosophical theory begets cultural trends that influence politicians and legislation." Radio Show Host:  "Let's go to Joe in Pacific...

Radio Show #1

Radio show host:  Hi! Welcome to my show, you're on with Ron! Listener:  Hello, my name is Fred, thanks for taking my call! Radio show host: Hi Fred, what do you do for a living? Listener:  I'm a student. Radio show host:  Fine, go ahead you have 30 seconds. Listener:  Well...I...uh...had a question and a couple of comments... Radio show host:  Pick one. Listener:  Well I don't understand why I can't speak longer than 30 seconds. Radio show host:  Okay, have a nice day! Radio show host:  Ladies and gentlemen this show is my property.  The air waves belong to the people, the frequency license belongs to the station but this show belongs to me.  When I invite you to speak on my show I am, in essence, inviting you into my home.  Every one has rules for their household and so do I.  When you come on the air you need to follow the rules or leave.

Go Back!

No one in any political party is willing to say the two words that make the most sense political policy wise:  Go Back! We (the citizens of the United States) should go back economically.  More specifically we should go back to:    1.  The gold standard.  Keynes attempted to fulfill the promise of America life as outlined by Herbert Croly in his book "The Promise of American Life", of ever increasing prosperity.  Keynes theory was that by getting the federal government involved in the economy with various stimulative measures that the business cycle (boom and bust) would be eliminated and the economy would grow forever.  Speaking of boom and bust Keynes theory has been a bust.  It has been in practice now for many decades and yet the country and the world continue to experience recessions with the added consequence of deficits and debt.  Time to go back to the gold standard where the economy will be smaller but our money will be wort...

Spreaker

I have an application called Spreaker.  Spreaker allows me to podcast from my smart-phone.  This is very handy but I'm not sure what it is I should concentrate on content wise.  I have thought about reading:  current events, poetry, children's stories.  When I do decide I will have to record "on location" as I have no studio from which to record.  You're welcome.

Trump

A video surfaced the other day showing Donald Trump making childish remarks about women.  He apologized and all of his enemies began screaming for him to resign.  He didn't (much to his credit). If it is true that 24 hours constitutes a "lifetime" in politics then we have approximately 30 lifetimes to go until the election and no reason therefore to get hysterical.  You're welcome.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday.  I became 56 years old.  I became alarmed when I realized that in only eleven more years I will be eligible for Social Security.  Other than that it was a normal day.  I worked Lyft: $60.00 and completed my first shift (three hours) with Grubhub:  $61.00.  The best part of the day was receiving well wishes from my friends:  Ms. Sells, Ms. Miguel, Ms. Birdsong and Ms. Owens.  I am healthy, happy and my life improves every day!  Thank God!
